Boldly Going

Okay. I did it. I just uploaded NIGHT AND CHAOS (now with caps!) to the Kindle. It should be available in 24 hours, apparently.

I’m scared! I don’t know why, but I am. With everyone and their wife doing the indie thing right now, there’s a hell of a lot of books out there begging for readers’ attention. What makes me think my little novella is worthy of claiming some of that attention? Nobody might buy it. Or people might buy it, hate the cliffhanger, and decide I’m a terrible person and leave terrible reviews about how terrible the book is everywhere. I don’t know. I can’t do anything about it though, so I probably shouldn’t worry.

What I can do is try to drum up some interest. And, as with all things truly important in my life, I am turning to lj for help. Guys. I have a pdf version of NIGHT AND CHAOS. If you’re interested in reading it, give me a shout and I’ll happily send you a copy. All I ask in return is an honest review/spreading of the word. I don’t care where you leave your review – Amazon, your blog, Facebook, Twitter, wherever. If you think the book is a stinking pile of stink, feel free to tell people that too. I can think of lots of bestselling authors who’s work is stinky and it doesn’t seem to be negatively impacting their careers.

But seriously, if you’d like a copy and are interested in spreading the word, please do comment. And if you’re on the fence, keep in mind that my editor at QueeredFiction (who very kindly formatted and typeset the whole thing for me and is a man of exquisite taste) said this:

“Naomi Clark effortlessly gives this urban fantasy wings! Night and Chaos is a thrill read you’ll never forget.”

It’s on Amazon as I type, Nome!

Congratulations, I think you are very brave, but the fact that people have loved your other books means I don’t think you ought to be too worried. 🙂

Thanks! I just hope I haven’t been tricked by the big gold-rush mentality that’s around at the moment, lol.
